During the relaunch of Landport Community Centre time was put aside to dedicate one of the rooms to Ken Bowen, a Trustee of Enable Ability of fourteen years and indeed Chairman for many of those.
The Bowen Suite at Landport Community Centre will now serve as a reminder of Ken’s dedication to the needs of young people with disability in the area every time you visit the room.
Jon Muller gave a fitting tribute to Ken and spoke about his care for the community and his ability to make complex problems seem simple. He also jokingly referred to his ability to endure pain given he was a Millwall supporter!
Ken’s wife Chris (pictured below) spoke on behalf of the family and reflected on how Ken would have felt quite humbled by the ceremony.
It was a fitting tribute to a wonderful friend and colleague and the room is now home to a small wall memorial to the man himself.
