Junior Club

The Enable Ability Junior Club is a social and leisure group for 5 to 12 year olds with mild to moderate physical or learning difficulties in South East Hampshire.

It’s good that she comes out of her shell and gets involved. She just loves the activities and to be with kids of her own age

The club meets once a week to access activities in the community and social clubs as well as structured sessions in outdoor pursuits, cookery, sports and the arts. We also run outdoor education sessions, which include looking after animals, orienteering, den building and mini-beast hunting.

Activities take place throughout the year on a weekly basis, usually on Sundays, in the Portsmouth, Havant, and Fareham area. We also do day trips further afield to places such as The Weald and Downland Living Museum, Marwell Zoo, Winchester Science Museum and Birdworld. In 2018 a number of our young people will achieve their John Muir Awards in outdoor environmental education in partnership with Staunton Country Park.

If you are interested in getting your young person involved then please get in contact with Junior Club Project Leader to organise a short informal visit for us to answer any questions you or your young person may have, write a care plan together and hopefully get your young person booked on.

The Junior Club is organized and managed by trained staff and volunteers, which means that families and carers can be confident in leaving their children with us whilst they can benefit from some much-needed respite.

If you are interested in joining our Junior Club sessions as either as a young person or a volunteer please contact our office for more information by calling 023 9267 1874 or sending an email to juniorclub@enableability.org.uk
