‘Thank you for the music’, Miss G!

Fabulous Miss G Event raises money for Enable Ability!

This April, Enable Ability were delighted to have been selected as one of Miss G Events’ chosen charities for the incredible Miss G ‘ABBA’ charity night!

The evening at the Royal Maritime Club featured a stunning line-up of singers, dancers, and various spectacular acts. It was filled with fabulous entertainment and laughter, and was highlighted by the presence of its very own Dancing Queen, Miss G.

The Fabulous Miss G, aka Andrew Pearce, co-owner of the beautiful, award-winning Creatiques Bridal Boutique in Albert Road and The HairdressSir salon, has been creating performances for his (or should we say, her) audiences for nearly 30 years.

Miss G has made numerous charitable donations over the years, significantly contributing to various causes including Portsmouth Down Syndrome, cancer charities, the Make a Wish Foundation, QA Hospital and many more! In recognition of his extensive philanthropic efforts, Andrew was honoured with a Civic Award in 2016. His dedication to helping others continues to inspire and make a meaningful impact in the community.

The ABBA evening was a delightful event attended by 190 guests. Our Charity Manager, Richard, and Partnerships Officer, Hollie, embraced the ABBA spirit by dressing up for the occasion, as you can see from the photos!

Enable Ability and the Lord Mayor’s Charity were each presented with a cheque for £1700- a remarkable, and most generous donation which will help us continue our own community work, working with people with disabilities.

Andrew said,

“The team very generously give up their time for our Miss G events for nothing. Andrew Talbot- New, Mark Rose on sound, Sandra Williams, Jodie Vinnal and the Cantando Choir are, and have been an integral part of the shows. I am proud to be able to continue supporting charities from various sectors through my work, and am delighted to have given Enable Ability a donation of £1700.”

Hollie commented,

“On top of a fantastic evening, we can’t thank Miss G enough for such a wonderful donation! Fundraising in our current climate is extremely tough, and we are relying more and more on external donations, just like Miss G’s, for us to be able to continue to support our service users throughout our 15 various projects. Thank you Andrew, and to your whole team who made this donation possible.”

The next Miss G event is on 2nd November… but be SUPER quick, as tickets have nearly sold out already!! Follow Miss G over on Insta or Facebook
