Enable Ability are delighted to have been contacted by Catherine Burt, Team Leader of the 8th Portsmouth Girls’ Brigade, following a recent fundraising event, which was run by the older members of the group.
The team of 11 to 16-year-olds planned a ‘Charity Sale’, which involved a great deal of organisation and the selling of second-hand items, cakes, and glitter tattoos.
The sale, which was held on 10th June at the group’s base in Tangier Road, was attended by the younger members of the group; the group member’s families, and friends.
After raising £100 in just 20 minutes, the girls decided to donate their fundraising efforts to one of three local charities. They collectively chose Enable Ability to be the lucky recipient!
Our Partnerships & Events Officer, Hollie, went to thank the 8th Portsmouth Girls’ Brigade for their incredible efforts, and to talk about the excellent work the charity does within Hampshire,
“It was really lovely to meet such a wonderful group of young people, who were so passionate about the event that they ran themselves! I could tell it meant a lot to them to give something back to their community.
We are so grateful for their generous and hard-earned donation. Well done!”
