Yesterday, we were delighted to attend the Portsmouth SEND Local Offer event, where we had the opportunity to meet and chat with many families looking for information and support.
It was wonderful to see so many people come together to share experiences, make connections, and learn more about the local services available to children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
For us, one of the most rewarding parts of the day was speaking with parents who hadn’t heard of Enable Ability before, and being able to introduce the range of services we offer to support children, young people, and adults with disabilities across Portsmouth and South-East Hampshire.
The event also hosted the first ever Portsmouth SEND Appreciation Awards, organised by Portsmouth Parent Voice, celebrating those who make a real difference to families in the city.

We are absolutely thrilled to share that Enable Ability was announced as the winner of the ‘Support for Young People’ Award! This award recognises organisations and teams who go above and beyond to help young people and their families, and highlights the important work being done to support those who need it most.
Members of our team were also nominated for the ‘Community Choice’ Award, and received some incredible feedback alongside their certificates. It truly means so much to know how valued our services are across Portsmouth. We’re proud to continue supporting children and families with care, compassion, and commitment.
We’d also like to extend our congratulations to the winners of the remaining categories – well done to everyone involved!
