Join us at Spark Community Space where we’ll be discussing the matters that matter to you! Pizza, crisps and squash included. Free to attend.
What do we do?
The social group meet twice a month, as well as having a co-production meeting to discuss the matters that are important and whether we can have an influence on changing how services could be run for the better and for the wider community. We invite key decision-makers so that they can hear your voices and potentially make the changes needed, we also discuss other issues and plan the work which the group would like to focus their efforts towards in future meetings.
We also have some fun in these monthly meetings by offering all attendees free pizza, crisps and squash, we will also be hosting a quiz just for a bit of fun.
Is it suitable for anyone?
This is a disability group open to everyone of all ages, setting the minimum age limit of 25 years old.
Is there a cost to join?
Free to attend with pizza, crisps and squash provided, there may be opportunities to purchase additional food and drink from the venue.
What should we expect from the staff?
Staff are friendly, welcoming and can help support everyone. We cannot support individuals who require one-to-one support, need personal care or those who display challenging behaviour. This is a friendly, safe and fun environment which encourages everyone to speak out without the fear of being judged.
Contact the organiser if there is something which we can do to make it easier for you to attend our events. Attendees are always welcome to bring a parent, carer or a professional who could help them.
If there is something which you think the group should be talking about, then we strongly encourage you to contact the organiser and we can raise the issue when we meet.
Please consider, the purpose of this group is to flex your ability of being independent and living an independent adult lifestyle. All attendees are encouraged to travel to and from the venue independently. Supporting staff can help with making travel arrangements at the end of the activity. If assistance is needed, the organiser being notified prior to arrival would be helpful.
Due to our strong encouragement to form new friendships after our meetings and encouragement to travel to and from activities independently, we ask all participants and/or their parents/carers to sign a declaration on arrival.
