The Over 25 group enjoyed a visit to the Farmhouse last night, combining a relaxed evening meal with a chance to review the venue’s accessibility.
The group were warmly welcomed by pleasant and polite staff, who were also quick to serve. A highlight of the evening was the service robot, nicknamed Boris, which added something memorable to the experience. The atmosphere was lively for a Thursday evening but still comfortable, with good lighting and plenty of space throughout.
The menu offered a great variety of good food at reasonable prices, plus many in the group agreed that the ice cream called Candy Mania was another highlight of the evening, not least because the bowls were so large that one member commented it was “as big as my head”. This caused plenty of laughter as some found themselves having to drink from the bowl to finish.
Accessibility was a key focus of the visit. The venue has a large car park with plenty of disabled spaces, also boasts spacious cubicles and an accessible toilet where users need a radar key to access. The layout inside felt open and the entrance and inside the pub was step-free, making it the perfect venue for wheelchairs and also making it easy for everyone to move around the pub. While there are televisions, games and a soft play area for children (with a small extra charge for the play area), children were well-behaved in this family-friendly pub and the absence of background music made it easier for the group to chat together.
Ordering food online via an app is possible, though the group felt speaking directly to staff was a better option as the WiFi signal in the venue is weak.
Overall, the group found the Farmhouse to be a welcoming and enjoyable place to visit, with good food, friendly staff and thoughtful accessibility features that made the evening a positive experience for everyone.
