Enable Ability are proud to have recently won 2 awards for their tremendous efforts and determination to be a great employer and workplace- a place where people enjoy coming to work, and for those people to know that they are seen as invaluable personnel; and one that reflects on one of our core values, recognising the need to ensure that disabled people have equal opportunities to employment.
Having been awarded the ‘Investors In People’ (IIP) award for the last 20 years, we are very proud to have been recognised by our staff as a great place to work, and to receive a further 3-year accreditation. Staff are selected at random to complete a feedback form and/or attend an informal interview with an IIP member of staff to share their thoughts on the workplace, before a decision from the IIP is made.
The other award we have received is for becoming a ‘Disability Confident Employer’ (Level 2) – an award where the charity is assessed in it’s employability practices- which in turn helps us make the most of the talents a person with a disability can bring to our workplace. As a charity for children, young people and adults with disabilities, we are helping to remove barriers that face disabled people, and changing attitudes and understanding of disability throughout our work.
Both the Investors In People Plaque and the Disability Confident Employer certificate take pride of place at our office, based in Copnor Road.
