Another skydiver took the leap of faith for Enable Ability this weekend!
Emma Hartburn, a guardian of one of of Enable Ability’s service users, decided she wanted to complete a skydive when the charity announced spaces earlier this year. Due to timescales, Emma made the brave decision to go solo at a later date so that she could raise as much money as possible.
Up bright and early, Emma set to her skydive at 07:15am on Saturday 6th August- what a way to start the day! Full of confidence and donning an Enable Ability t-shirt, she boarded the plane from which she was soon to jump- though not from 10,000ft as originally planned, but from 15,000ft!
“I was booked for the lower height of 10,000ft, but as I was the only skydiver in the plane booked to jump from that height (the others booked the 15,000ft jump), the crew decided to chuck me out with the others!”
Safely back on the ground, Emma was approached by her tandem instructor for video feedback on her jump:
“I did it, I did it! That was amazing, absolutely loved it- I’d do it all over again!”
Emma chose Enable Ability as her charity for her skydive. She said that the Portsmouth based charity has helped her Grandson so much, that she wanted to give something back. Emma started her fundraising in May, and to date has raised a whopping £718 (inc gift aid), with £534* of that sum going directly to the charity. To donate to Emma’s page, please click here. Thank you.
A huge thank you Emma for choosing Enable Ability to support with your very first tandem skydive! It means so much to the children and adults who use our services, the charity and the entire team!
Well done to you!
*Charity skydives are part funded by the jumper and the charity. Reach our funding target, and this means that you can potentially do a tandem skydive (just like Emma did), for only £50!
