Back in June, our Over 25 group enjoyed a visit to Durty Nelly’s in Palmerston Road!
We were welcomed by friendly staff and tasty food. The outdoor secret garden was a real highlight, with nice outdoor lighting, heaters for the colder months ahead and shelter if it rains. It’s also a great spot to relax with views of the blue skies, while the team even offered to change the TV channel for us.
The location couldn’t be better, right by the beach; also close to public transport and surrounded by other pubs, restaurants and cafés if you want to extend the evening to a few places. Menus were easy to read, and there was a good food selection to choose from. Prices were much higher than your typical pub, especially for some of the drinks, but we felt the overall quality of the experience made it worthwhile.
However, there were a few accessibility challenges, so please visit the venue first before committing, as well as parking being a real challenge with no disabled bay parking nearby. The choice of non-alcoholic drinks was also limited and not part of the food deal, which made a non-alcoholic drink more expensive compared to the alcoholic options!
Even with these barriers, Durty Nelly’s offered us a pleasant evening in a great setting, with the secret garden space being a particular favourite with the group who visited.
