August fundraising events in summary…

It is with great pleasure that we announce the success of our very first Afternoon Tea event!

The event, which was heavily supported by The Partnerships Foundation and Zurich Community Trust, took place in the summer holidays- so that both adults and children could enjoy some tasty treats!

Guests were entertained by the very talented Dawn Gracie from Dawn’s Vintage Do, whilst delving into delicious sandwiches, cakes and scones. In true Enable Ability fashion, we also held a raffle which again was hugely supported by local businesses and stores, including Southern Co-op, Cosham FuneralCare, Morrisons stores, Morris Crocker Chartered Accountants, Zurich Community Trust, and Portraits by Pear Tree Studio.

Of course, it wouldn’t have been a proper Afternoon Tea without cream and jam… again, we were very proudly supported by Rodda’s Cream Tea and Tiptree Jam with their delicious clotted cream and strawberry jam portions.

The event raised a tasteful £302.98 for Enable Ability, which will help us continue to support our work for children and young adults with disabilities living in Portsmouth and South East Hampshire.

A big THANK YOU to all of our sponsors, donors and supporters for making this event possible, and thanks also to Tracey from GoodGym who came to help our young people with setting up the stands of goodies, and our fellow neighbour, Lyn, and all of our staff and social enterprise team who helped us no end in setting up on the day!

Our first Bingo and quiz night also took place in August, raising a tidy sum of £278.94 combined.

Thank you to everyone who came and took part in our August events!
